Cryopen

Cryotherapy or cryosurgery is a safe and effective procedure that is used to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions. At Revive Medical Aesthetics we use the Cryopen to perform these treatments, a world leader in cryosurgery.

The NHS does not routinely remove benign skin lesions so this is the ideal service to use.

The cryopen can be used to treat:

  • Skin Tags

  • Seb Ks

  • Warts

  • Veruccas

  • Sun Spots

  • Actinic Keratosis

  • Cherry Haemangiomas

At Revive Medical Aesthetics we also offer a Mole Screening Service with Map my Mole if we or you have any concerns regarding a mole or lesion.

Treatment Overview

Cryotherapy involves using liquid nitrous oxide and cold temperatures to destroy the tissue by freezing the cell fluid which in turn forms ice shards that rupture the cell membrane and in turn destroying the cell and lesion. The cryopen is precise, therefore avoiding healthy surrounding tissue. Are there any side effects? No, not really. The area treated will go red, then black as it scabs over and then pink/white until healed. Is it painful? No, there is a slight sensation of coldness as treated then a little itchy like a nettle sting but soon settles

You may need a second or third treatment depending on the lesion being treated.
